Surrey County Cricket Club is one of the 18 major county clubs which make up the English domestic cricket structure, representing the historic county of Surrey. Its limited overs team is called the Surrey Brown Caps (formerly the Surrey Lions). Surrey is the richest first class county club with turnover of £22 million in 2006. Because of this, they are often known as the 'Manchester United' of English cricket.
The club is based at The Oval cricket ground (currently known officially as the 'Brit Insurance Oval' following a sponsorship deal), within the Kennington region of Lambeth in south London.
