ExtZy is a prediction market game created by Z/Yen, which makes a market out of web-pages. Players can buy shares in those sites that they think will grow in popularity, and then trade their dividends in for real prizes.
Take a look at the "Market", read the "One-Minute Guide to ExtZy" or the "Three-Minute Guide to Markets", read the "Rules" of the game, build your "Portfolio" and set your eye on the top "Prizes". As you know, ExtZy is a laboratory for experimenting with prediction markets, hence why Z/Yen so generously subsidises prizes. As part of the experiment (shades of white mice in The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy), be forewarned that the GameLord is launching some new dividend algorithms in five of the markets - political parties, London Accord, Z/Yen, technology and other.
The basic idea is to increase the sensitivity to price/earnings ratio. So far, the winning strategy in some markets is to acquire a portfolio, and sit on it reaping prizes. The new algorithms are designed to be more 'aggressive', including the idea of negative dividends in some cases. Anyway, as these algorithms are launched, the relevant market will have appropriate notices of how the algorithms work. Hopefully, both gameplay and predictive capabilities will be enhanced. We also hope to provide a small function for some players to earn Zoints if they wish.

Please note that due to lack of activity we have closed both the "Gresham College" and "Shaping Tomorrow" markets. Players who held shares in these markets had their shares bought out at the current trading price.
